Persuasive Writing

I was learning to write a persuasive piece of writing. I can think of lots of reasons why Ice-Cream is better than chocolate. It was easy to persuade the reader to think that Ice-Cream is better than chocolate because Ice-Cream is very yummy!

Summarising

I was learning to summarise information I can find the main ideas in a text and I can identify the keywords in a text. It was tricky because I found it hard to answer some of the questions.

Telling Time

I was learning to understand 24 hour time and write the time in numbers and words. I can read the time on the clock and write it in digital. It was easy because I had already learnt to tell the time.

Youthtown

I love Youthtown because I learn something new every time.At Youthtown I learnt to bend your knees to help you balane. My favourite game is the obstacle courses.zx

Acrostic Poem

I was learning to write an acrostic poem. I can write an acrostic poem about Halloween. It was easy to write an acrostic poem because there is lots of things we can say about the topic; Halloween.

It was easy because the picture prompts helped me to write my story.

I was learning to divide coins into groups.
I know that each group must be equal.
It is easy because you move one at a time.

Making Connections

I was learning to make connections.
I can use personal experiences to connect to in the text.
It was easy because I had  was able to identify with what happened in the story.

Word Mania

 I was learning to make words using different letters. I can make lots of words using the letter provided. It was easy because there was lot of letters to choose from.

Chinese Cultural Lessons

Contractions

I was learning how to make contractions. I can make two longer words into one shorter word. It was easy because the new words had pats of the two words in it.

Punctuation Marks

I was learning about punctuation marks. I know when to use each punctuation mark. It was easy because we have been practising using punctuation marks in class.

Place Value

I was learning about place value. I can identify how many tens and ones are in two digit numbers. It was easy because the video we watched in class explained it well.

Making Inferences

I was learning to make inferences. I can identify and describe what the author wanted me to feel,think about or see in the text. It was tricky because it was not easy to find the clues in the text.

Making Predictions

I was learning to make prediction. I can ask myself before and during reading what do I think will happen. It was easy to make prediction because the pictures helped me.

Counting Forwards and Backwards in 10's

I was learning to skip forwards and backwards in 10's. I can skip count forwards & backwards in 10's starting from any number. It was easy to skip count backwards & forwards because ten is a tidy number.

Road Safety

This week is road safety week. It is important to use these rules 1. Join the walking school bus and learn to walk to school safety. 2. Stop, look and listen before you cross the road.

Vowel Sounds

I was learning about the short and long vowel sounds. I can tell the difference between the long and short vowel sounds. It was easy to tell the difference between the vowel sounds because the video explained it well.

Skip Counting

I was learning to skip count in 2's and 5's. I learn't how to skip count in 2's and 5's. It was tricky to skip count in 2's because I have not done this before.

Water Skills

Summarising information

I was learning to summarise information. I know how to summarise information.
It was tricky to because I didn't understand how to summarise information.
